Lindsay Lohan can breathe easy…for now.

E! News has confirmed the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will not be charging the troubled starlet today with felony theft for allegedly swiping a $2,500 necklace—which means mom Dina Lohan, can go back to fuming over Glee dissing her on its post-Super Bowl broadcast.

“Absolutely nothing will be filed today,” D.A. spokeswoman Jane Robison tells E! News.

Right now, longtime Lohan nemesis Danette Meyers (who prosecuted the actress’s DUI case) is still going over the evidence presented last week by the LAPD.

Just when she thought she was in the clear, Lindsay Lohan may still have to deal with drama from the Riverside District Attorney stemming from an alleged incident with Dawn Holland, a former Betty Ford Clinic worker.

According to Owen McIntosh, Holland’s new attorney, “As far as I know the Riverside District Attorney’s investigation is still ongoing.”

He continued, “They briefly spoke with my client last week but we have not heard anything more from them relating to any charges them may or may not be pursuing.”

“As far as I am concerned the real issue here is that Betty Ford has ‘dropped the ball’ as far as my client is concerned with this case. I have put in around six calls to their insurance carrier Sedgewick CMS and have yet to have a response regarding my client’s workers compensation claim which is ridiculous. She is living off temporary disability benefits just now while they are stalling about the ‘cause and scope’ of her work at Betty Ford at the time of the incident.”

Stepping out for a weekend retail romp, Lindsay Lohan was busy making her way around Malibu, California on Saturday afternoon (January 22).

Clad in a low-cut black top with tattered jean shorts and black boots, the “Georgia Rule” actress and a few friends hit up a few stores including the celeb-popular Kitson boutique.

The sighting comes just as TMZ is reporting that LiLo thinks that ex Betty Ford employee Dawn Holland is lying to press in an attempt to extort money.

The comments come after Holland has hired a new lawyer – which Lohan believes is an “obvious” sign that she’s looking to get a quick payday.

Michael Lohan has battled alcohol issues himself in the past, and lately he’s been attending Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings with his 24-year-old daughter Lindsay since she was released from rehab earlier this month.

He told gossip website Hollyscoop: “We went to an AA meeting last night then went home and had a quiet night.

“She changed back to the girl she used to be. When she was at her best — literally. She’s done a 180 and I’m very proud of her.”

Lindsay moved into a four-bedroom home in Venice, California — which is situated next to her former girlfriend Samantha Ronson’s house — after being released from the Betty Ford Clinic, but Michael isn’t worried that this will affect her recovery.

He said: “I don’t think it matters where someone lives because you’re going to find the elements of addiction, the wrong people, and places no matter where you are.”

Even though she has left the rehab facility, Lindsay will still be subject to random drug and alcohol testing with a psychiatrist until a court hearing on February 24.

A source close to Lindsay Lohan confirms L.L. is still residing in the main Betty Ford Center and has not yet transitioned into residential sober living, or “residential day treatment,” in Rancho Mirage, Calif..

However, Linds was able to take a break and get some retail therapy at Forever 21 in Palm Desert this past Tuesday.

“She looked good. She had her hair down and was wearing sunglasses, a white T-shirt and jeans,” says an employee who wished to remain unnamed. “She seemed pleasant.”

So could things really be turning around for Lohan? According to her business partner, that’s a yes.

An October probation report paraphrased Lindsay as telling her probation officer that not only is she having major cash-flow problems, but her “clothing line is falling apart because she is not available to monitor the product.”

However, Kristi Kaylor, president of Lindsay’s fashion label and a longtime Lohan pal, tells E! News that 6126 is far from falling apart.

“It’s doing fine,” Kaylor says. “While she’s getting healthy, I’m running it.”

And we’re told it’s selling.

A rep for 6126 tells E! News that despite all of L.L.’s legal woes, they are getting great feedback about their new collection, with a Japanese buyer swooping up almost the entire spring line.

However, Kaylor concedes that everything will go smoother once Lindsay’s out of rehab:

“It will be better when she is able to be hands-on with designing, because she is amazingly talented. But she’s now spending time getting healthy. The orders are strong, and she’s already working on fall handbags.”

Kaylor declined to discuss how much exact time and attention Lohan is able to spend on the line while in her treatment program.

Doesn’t exactly sound like 6126 is in shambles as L.L. made it appear last month…then again Linds is hitting up Forever 21 instead of El Paseo, Palm Desert’s version of Rodeo Drive.

The employee at Forever 21 says that Lindsay spent around $200 on a lot of clothing, including “a leopard sweater, cardigan sweaters, pajama shorts, shirts, leggings and some other stuff.”

Does Betty Ford also offer budgeting lessons, then?
