Lady GaGa Covers NME Magazine, Calls Comparison To Madonna Retarded

Lady GaGa Covers NME Magazine, Calls Comparison To Madonna Retarded

Lady GaGa is once again raising eyebrows with a very revealing magazine cover, this time around it’s for the mag NME. She’s barely dressed and grabbing her boob for the cover, and it the mag she’s calling the comparison to Madonna retarded.

“I swear to you. I am not stupid enough to put out a record and be that moronic,” she told the mag.

“Listen to me. Why the f–k…? I’m a songwriter. I’ve written loads of music. Why would I try to put out a song and think I’m getting one over on everybody? That’s retarded. What a completely ridiculous thing to even question me about.”

Of course her use of the “r” word already has some all kinds of upset:

“The Spread the Word to End the Word campaign is for everyone to learn more about the hurtful impact of the R-word on people with intellectual disabilities their families and friends,” Kirsten Seckler, a spokeswoman for the Special Olympics, tells E! News. “We invite Lady Gaga to join our campaign by visiting r-word.org and taking the pledge and hope that she will use her voice to help us eliminate harmful language toward our athletes—as she has done for so many others.”

I don’t blame GaGa for being a little peturbed over some comparing her music to Madonna’s, she works hard on writing her songs and coming up with new material. And as for her use of the “r” word, people really need to learn how to not be soooooo sensative, she wasn’t using the word to make fun of any one person

Lady Gaga Censored in Malaysia for Pro-Gay Lyrics

Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Censored in Malaysia for Pro-Gay Lyrics

Lady Gaga’s Malaysian fans will have to deal with a heavily edited version of her hit song “Born This Way.” The AP reports that broadcasters in the majority Muslim nation refuse to play lyrics from the song that endorse homosexual lifestyles.

Radio stations have been playing a version of the track that has garbled nonsense in place of the lyrics: “No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I’m on the right track, baby.” Malaysia’s AMP Radio Networks explain that they’ve been playing the censored version of the song to stay in line with strict government rules surrounding media.

“The particular lyrics in ‘Born This Way’ may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia’s social and religious observances,” the company said in a statement. “The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a ‘taboo’ by general Malaysians.”

Gaga isn’t the first artist to run afoul of strict religous taboos in Malaysia. Madonna and Beyonce Knowles have both faced protests, threats of violence and government threats to shut down their performances when they scheduled tour dates there.

Gaga has yet to speak out about the censorship, but the issue of gay advocacy is one close to her heart, and she recently severed a business relationship with Target stores over political donations that flew against her support of gay marriage.

Lady Gaga talks about her past drug abuse

Lady Gaga attends the Mugler Women's Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2011 show

The 24-year-old singer has previously admitted to taking cocaine and says she still worries about the extent of her narcotic use when she was trying to launch her music career.

She told Neil Strauss in his new book Everyone Loves You When You Are Dead: “Sometimes it freaks me out – or I should say it petrifies me – when I think about laying in my apartment in New York with bed bugs and roaches on the floor and mirrors with cocaine everywhere, and no will or interest in doing anything but making music and getting high.

“I’ve had such obstacles with drugs and rejection and people not believing in me. It’s been a very long and continuous road that I love, but it’s hard to just chalk it up to myself. I have to believe there’s something greater than myself.”

The author also revealed the “Born this Way” hitmaker confided in him that she had previously suffered a “traumatic experience” but wouldn’t give details as she doesn’t want her fans to be upset.

He told RadarOnline.com: “I asked her if she’d been through a traumatic experience when she was younger and she said yes, that it was when she was in New York and it was so terrible that she’d blocked it out.

“She said it was so horrible that she didn’t want it in her younger fans’ heads. I think she felt that if she opened up about herself, then it would define her and that’s all anyone would ask about.”

However, Gaga did hint at her problems, but insisted she had brought them all on herself.

She said: “I didn’t have a bad childhood. All of the things I went through were on my own quest for an artistic journey to f**k myself up like Warhol and Bowie and Mick, and just go for it.

“All of the trauma I caused to myself. Or it was caused by people that I met when being outrageous and irresponsible.”

Lady Gaga cancels Target deal over gay rights issues

Lady Gaga has cancelled a major marketing deal with US retailer Target, allegedly due to the company’s weak support for gay rights. Target, which had been expected to release an exclusive version of Gaga’s forthcoming album, has been criticised for donations to political groups seen as anti-gay.

“Lady Gaga and Target came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago,” a spokesperson for the singer said. But according to the Advocate and Metro Weekly, the decision was not rooted in an financial dispute. The deal was “in a sensitive stage of continued discussion for probably the last three weeks”, according to publicist Bob Witeck, who claims to have had knowledge of the proceedings. “Throughout this whole process, [Gaga] has remained true to her audience. I think she’s a person of great integrity, and I think people will recognise that.”

Many Gaga fans questioned the Target deal, announced last month, given the retailer’s record of supporting controversial rightwing candidates. Target is notorious for a $150,000 (£92,587) corporate donation to MN Forward, a lobby group that supported Tom Emmer in his 2010 bid for Minnesota governor. Emmer, who lost the election, was vocal in his opposition to gay marriage.

“Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGTB charity groups,” Lady Gaga told Billboard at the time of the announcement. “Our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they’ve made supporting those groups.”

But though Target has made contributions to organisations such as Project 515, which advocates same-sex marriage, a spokesperson couldn’t guarantee that the retailer would not continue to support candidates with anti-gay voting records.

Lady Gaga’s third album, Born This Way, is due on 23 May. Elton John has described its titular lead single as “the new gay anthem”.

Lady Gaga’s Mugler Runway Hairstyle Inspired by Sailor Moon

On Wednesday, Lady Gaga made her Paris Fashion Week runway debut for the new incarnation of the Thierry Mugler brand, Mugler. Gaga was there to support her longtime stylist Nicola Formichetti, who is the revived brand’s chief designer.

Somehow, Gaga managed to make it down the runway despite her terrifyingly tall platform heels, smoking and shimmying to the tune of her new track, “Goverment Hooker.” Impressive!

Also impressive: Gaga’s thigh-length blond ponytails. Dare we say they look like they were anime-inspired? Were it not for the sex shop finery, she’d look like she was rocking a Sailor Moon costume.

Nicola Formichetti brought the Thierry Mugler women’s collection roaring back to the runway Wednesday night, with Lady Gaga in long blond ponytails and giant platforms modeling for her stylist/collaborator, and the show streaming live on Facebook.

Lady Gaga took to the modeling gig like she’d been doing it all her life, stepping onto the runway from the front of the house, puffing on a cigarette and grinding on a column, as her new single, “Government Hooker,” played on the soundtrack.

The Gothic arches on the problematic set didn’t make it easy to see. But this was a show for Generation Facebook. And all those little monsters watching at home had the real front row seats. Now, we’ll see if they remember the clothes.

She’s done it before and she’s doing it again – Lady Gaga is set to debut another brand new song during the Thierry Mugler fashion show during the annual Paris Fashion Week.

Coming up later today lady gaga will serve as the musical director for Mugler’s runway show.

The fashion show will be streamed live at 3pm ET and, word has it, the tune Gaga will be premiering is “Judas” – which is the second single off her “Born This Way” album.

Of the new track, co-producer Fernando Garibay told MTV News, ” ‘Judas’ is produced by RedOne and Gaga, obviously, and it’s a statement about, again I can’t speak for her, but what I gather is it’s about sometimes not choosing the right choice,” he said. “But you can’t deny that the choice is not a part of you and who you are.”
