Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” video, released this week, was shot over three days in February at Pendleton’s Camp Horno area and at Red Beach, the sandy stretch off Interstate 5 where Marines practice maneuvers.

It’s likely the first major music video to be shot at a Marine base, officials say.

About 80 local Marines participated in the filming, which shows Perry as a new enlistee getting her post-boot camp combat training.

In the girl power-themed video, Perry dumps her cheating boyfriend, then enlists after seeing a bumper sticker that says “All Women Are Created Equal, Then Some Become Marines.”

We’ve never seen Katy like this before and are totally enamored of this photograph. A lot of buzz on the internet has been about Amy Winehouse comparisons, because of the hair and eyeliner, we think it looks more like an Elizabeth Taylor tribute… what do you think?

Tending to promotional duties for her latest beauty-related venture, Katy Perry launched her new false lash collection at The Americana at Brand in Glendale, California on Wednesday (February 22).

Clad in a blue color block frock, velvet pumps and matching coif, the “Part Of Me” songstress made sure to sign a few autographs and snap some pics with fans after making her stylish arrival in a classic blue convertible.

Earlier today, Perry, who was recently named as the face of the trendy cosmetic accessories, took to her Twitter to gush about the event, writing, “Today has been a BEAUTIFUL day! U debuted “Part Of Me” at #1 & now I can’t wait to bat my LASHES & thank u in person @ the Americana at 4pm!”

The lashes are currently available at ULTA Beauty Stores nationwide and online at ULTA.com.

And in addition to launching an eyelash line and being a successful singer, Perry can add guest appearance on a TV hit show to her growing resume.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the pop icon will be starring in the March 6th episode titled “Single White Female” while playing the role of Rikki, a prison attendant who claims to be an old friend of Sabrina’s (Shannon Woodward).

What did the California beauty think of her new gig? “A couple of weeks ago, I was home, just toasting up a frozen chicken fillet when Shannon called me up and asked if I wanted to do something ‘fun’ for a change and try out a guest role on her TV show. I thought, sure, I have nothing else to do, and I like chillin’ with my best friend. Greg was nice, but I hope he’s not secretly sabotaging my potential future career by type-casting me in the role of just a looker, so that I would never be able to play anything more challenging,” Katy told.

They’ve been going through a very public divorce ordeal, and Katy Perry and Russell Brand have already figured out the legal specifics of their split.

According to a report, the “I Kissed a Girl” songstress and her “Get Him To The Greek” ex-hubby are on their way to singlehood again, with Brand’s petition and Perry’s response already on file with the court.

The former couple, married for 14 months, have agreed to “a comprehensive written settlement of all issues,” along with a mutual agreement as to the dividing of personal property.

Neither party is seeking any spousal support or portion of the other’s assets, and the divorce will be finalized in July.

The “California Gurls” songstress looks to have yet another chart topper on her hands, and having the “Love Lockdown” rapper on the track certainly doesn’t hurt.

It has been a big week for Katy, who was spotted giving a killer performance on the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

Katy Perry’s curves may be one of the things she’s known for, now that she’s a mega star, but it wasn’t always the case. The Elle cover girl reveals she used to be teased for her voluptuous shape!

When she was younger, Katy says she didn’t know how to deal with her newfound womanly body. In an attempt to make herself look more waifish, she wore minimizer bra with thick straps, but her strategy backfired. She says:

I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I’m generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me. But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145. And I had enormous boobs that I didn’t know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder…and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know…that these things would come in handy someday.

Well, Katy has clearly used her bodacious bod to her advantage! Here’s a lesson to teen girls everywhere: Don’t try to hide your natural shape, embrace it!

Katy Perry has ditched the bright and colorful look when it comes to new single “E.T.”. On Wednesday, January 26, the 26-year-old singer announced on her Facebook page that the futuristic song will be her next single off “Teenage Dream”, and adding to the excitement, she shares a sneak peek at its artwork.

The freshly-released photo captures the pop singer in black and white. In the picture, she dons a pleather and fish-scale sequined top with blunt bangs and heavy cat eye makeup. Along with the image, the wife of comedian Russell Brand promised there will be “a new music video and remixes coming soon”.

Gearing up to entertain fans throughout North America, Katy Perry has announced dates for her 2011 California Dreams tour.

The “Firework” singer took to Facebook to break the news during a live interview, during which she unveiled her 41-city travel plans.

The California Dreams tour kicks off on June 7th in Atlanta, Georgia while drawing to a close in Miss Perry’s hometown of Santa Barbara, California on August 14th.

She’s always been good to her fans, and on November 8th Katy Perry was spotted showing some love and signing autographs outside her New York City concert at the Roseland Ballroom.

The “California Gurls” songstress was all smiles as she chatted with her peeps near the exit of the Roseland Ballroom, sporting a bizarre manicure and a big smile.

Earlier in the evening, Katy performed a free concert to help Microsoft and AT&T launch the new Windows 7 mobile phone.

In related news, Katy has been keeping a low profile ever since tying the knot with her handsome beau Russell Brand, though she did perform at the 2010 MTV EMAs over the weekend in Madrid, Spain.
