Jessica Simpson, who’s been preggo for the past four years eight months, has been fighting a maternity battle. With her heels.
How pregnant does a fashionista have to be to give up her Louboutins? The “Fashion Star” host claimed early in her pregnancy that she would never give up wearing sky-high stilettos — even with her burgeoning baby bump.
But with only one month to go the Fashion Star mentor, 31, was overheard telling a fellow shopper at Fred Segal’s in Santa Monica Tuesday, where she and a pal spent the afternoon. “I can’t wear heels anymore,” lamented the star, clad in a black maxi dress and flip flops. “I tried but it was too hard. Wearing heels is like a religion to me, so it’s tough!”

April’s issue of Elle features an attention-grabbing cover star: a very pregnant Jessica Simpson cradling her belly in the nude.
It’s not like the “pose in the buff while pregnant” trope hasn’t been a thing in the past: there’s Demi Moore on Vanity Fair, Britney on Harper’s Bazaar, Cindy Crawford on W and on and on. But still, we’re a little surprised that Simpson, who’s kept her bump pretty covered up, is joining their ranks.
In addition to posing for an adorable photo shoot (there appear to be two covers, one nude and one featuring Jess in a red dress), rumored billionaire J Simps also dropped some major baby news — she’s having a girl!
The singer and “Fashion Star” host tells Elle that she’s hoping her daughter will develop a keen eye for style.
“I swear, I will croak if she asks me for a pair of Nikes instead of Christian Louboutins!” Jess declares. She also says she’s worried that fiance Eric Johnson’s love of sports will rub off on their new child: “Eric is so athletic. We’re gonna have this athletic girl and I won’t even be able to take her shopping.”

Bringing an end to the weekend, Jessica Simpson and boyfriend Eric Johnson were spotted side-by-side at Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C. on Sunday (November 7).
The couple lovingly held hands and laughed with one other after spending the weekend in the nation’s capital.
Meanwhile, Jess was recently announced as one of the performers slated to take the stage at Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade later this month.
