Charlie Sheen to Join Sean Penn on Charity Trip to Haiti

Charlie Sheen has revealed plans to join pal Sean Penn on a trip to Haiti, which was devastated by two earthquakes in January 2010, to help Sean who has been undertaking charity work in Haiti since the disaster.
Charlie told Access Hollywood Live: “We’re going to do a couple things first and then it looks like we’re heading down [to Haiti]. And I’m excited as hell because, you know, if I can bring the attention of the world down there, then clearly this tsunami keeps cresting.”
In a recent interview with GQ magazine Sean defended his friend, revealing he believes Charlie simply wants the world to “lighten” up.
He said: “When you divorce the moral judgments, which I prefer to do, I see a guy who has a clearer view of the nature of the world around him than is sometimes comfortable to have. Those are the sort of people who have a tendency to find altered states. But he’s a very ironic character. He’s got pretension in the crosshairs of his wit. I think to a large degree he’s saying, ‘Guys, we’re only going to be here once, so lighten the f–k up.’”

CBS Pulls The Plug on Charlie Sheen, Two And A Half Men
As Two And A Half Men star Charlie Sheen’s erratic behavior escalated today in a series of verbal assaults on the show’s creator-executive producer Chuck Lorre, the sitcom’s network and studio did the only thing they could in the situation: pull the plug.
But they only did it for this season. (Two and a Half Men was scheduled to resume production on Monday for 4 more episodes). So the door is left open for a possible ninth season. “Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros TV have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season,” the two companies said in a statement.
The question now is should Two And A Half Men continue? Could the damage done over the past few weeks ever be repaired. And most importantly, will Sheen come back from the brink?

Charlie Sheen Enters Rehab – Two And A Half Men’ Production On Hiatus
LOS ANGELES (CBS/AP) — Actor Charlie Sheen has reportedly entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center one day after being hospitalized amid reports of wild partying.
Production of “Two and a Half Men” has been placed on hiatus in light of actor Charlie Sheen’s decision to enter rehab, CBS has announced.
According to a person familiar with the emergency call placed Thursday, one of Sheen’s neighbors told a 911 operator that the actor was “intoxicated” and complaining of abdominal and chest pains.
The person familiar with the call, who was not authorized to publicly discuss details, spoke Friday on condition of anonymity.
Copies of the call probably won’t be ready for release by the Los Angeles Fire Department until Monday, a department spokesman said.
Sheen, 45, was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital and was there until around midnight Thursday, said his publicist, Stan Rosenfield, who cited the actor’s history of hernia problems.
Rosenfield said Friday that Sheen was in rehab, but he did not say why.
“Charlie Sheen has voluntarily entered an undisclosed rehabilitation center today,” the spokesman said. “He is most grateful to all who have expressed their concern.”
The terse statement noted that no additional information will be provided and asked that Sheen’s privacy be respected.

Follow-up: Charlie Sheen checked out of the hospital

Troubled Two and a Half Men star Charlie Sheen has checked out the hospital this morning.
Sheen — who was admitted to Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai hospital early yesterday morning with abdominal pains — was reportedly allowed home late last night and is now “resting” with friends.
Charlie’s hospitalization reportedly came after a 36-hour drinking session with porn stars at his house, though pals of the singer insist his need for medical assistance did not stem from his drinking or drug use, and his spokesperson has confirmed he aggravated a hernia.
His representative said: “Charlie has had a hernia condition for some time. I was told by the person who made the 911 call that it was hernia-related.”
Despite his medical problem not being linked to his partying, worried pals want 45-year-old Charlie to check into rehab, but he insists he doesn’t need help.
One friend said: “He definitely did not overdose but, yes, he was partying.
“He doesn’t think he’s going to die. He doesn’t want to stop. In his eyes, he thinks, ‘I’m having fun, so what? I’m making $2 million a week, the show has the best ratings, I show up for work. What’s the problem?’
“He’s got so many people saying they’re concerned and they have the power to help him but you can’t force things on someone, you can’t make him get help.”
Charlie — who has two daughters, Lola, six, and five-year-old Sam, with ex-wife Denise Richards and 22-month-old twins Bob and Max with estranged spouse Brooke Mueller — doesn’t think his wild behavior has any serious consequences, which is why his friends believe he refuses to seek help.
The source added to People: “He loves the attention, he loves to shock people, he loves that he gets away with all of this. And he can because there are no consequences — that’s the problem. It’s who he is, like it or leave it. Maybe at 22, you’re with five hookers, so what? But when you’re his age and a father, it’s just ridiculous.”
Another friend said: “The crazy thing is, he’ll probably be just fine. It’s part of why he doesn’t see the problem.”

Charlie Sheen Rushed to Hospital

Amidst reports of continued partying, Charlie Sheen was rushed to the hospital on Thursday morning (January 27).
Being taken to the E.R. at around 7 this morning, the “Two and a Half Men” star was picked up by paramedics and loaded into an ambulance while carried on a stretcher.
Of the situation, Sheen’s rep told Us magazine, “He was having severe abdominal pains and went to the hospital.”
The rep added that Charlie was still being observed, with most believing that the medical woes stem from his abuse of cocaine and alcohol.
