Brad Pitt comes back to New York City

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

After just a brief trip out of New York City’s JFK airport the other day, Brad Pitt was spotted at LAX in Los Angeles, heading back to his family on the East coast. We knew he wouldn’t be away for long!

As far as I have seen thus far, Brad wasn’t photographed at all in L.A. but I still think that he was likely doing some Plan B business, solidifying plans for his next film, or perhaps in discussions for other productions.

More photos of Brad Pitt at LAX below the cut!

Okay, who wants to work security when Brad Pitt is traveling? “Sorry sir, I’m going to have to, uh, pat you down. A bit more. Hang on…” :)

Brad Pitt flying solo out of JFK airport

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Brad Pitt was spotted arriving at JFK airport in New York City today, preparing to hop a plane for an unknown destination. He’s often not exactly thrilled to see the paparazzi when he has his kids with him, but he seems happy enough when he’s on his own - love the big smile!

Although there’s no word yet as to where he’s headed, he did have a business meeting not too long ago when the Jolie-Pitt family was out in Los Angeles. He may have a follow-up meeting. There’s a lot going on with Plan B, including prep work for The Lost City of Z, so that’s my official “guess”.

Regardless, I don’t imagine that Brad will be gone for long because Angelina Jolie has filming for Salt and we all know that they try to separate their work as much as humanly possibly so that at least one of them is with the kids.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Oscar Round-Up

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Whew. Is anyone else as tired as I am after last night’s Oscar awards? I love watching them but just once in my life I’d love to see them actually wrap up by 11 pm for a change!

Here’s a quick round-up of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at the Oscars last night!

Over at Style Crunch are the fashion notes - as usual, Brad dressed in a Tom Ford tux (and looked really sexy if I may add!) and Angie’s strapless dress was by Elie Saab, a designer that she’s worn before.

The tabloids were ready to pounce with Jennifer Aniston presenting the animation award, and I’m sure they’ll find something to twist around, but as far as I was concerned, the whole thing was practically a non-event. Brad and Angie looked gorgeous, Jennifer looked gorgeous, she delivered her lines well (loved when she said they didn’t know why they had let Jack Black out of the house), she smiled at Brad and Angelina, and they were both laughing at the jokes. There was zero drama, I’m sure the triangle fans are disappointed.

Speaking of things for tabloids to jump on, People.com has a video clip up that will probably get people up in arms. In it, they asked Brad and Angelina what the six kids were doing at home while they were out on the red carpet. Brad replied, “Throwing spaghetti against the wall”.

How much do you want to bet that this will fuel outrage, with folks saying that the kids are out of control? Too bad not everyone recognizes Brad’s sense of humor and that he was probably joking or exaggerating that maybe some of the kids weren’t fond of their dinner that night.

And as we all predicted, even though neither won a major award (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button did win several technical awards, as I figured it would), the night for Brad and Angelina was more about having a good time than anything else - Angie said, “I like to think of it more as a date. We’re very comfortable tonight and just happy to be out and it’s a nice night.”

Keep reading, I have some video clips of Brad and Angelina at the Oscars below the cut!

On the red carpet - Angie definitely looked tired, but who wouldn’t be with her schedule lately?

I really enjoyed having prior winners come up to talk about each nominee, it was different and interesting. Here’s the presentation for Best Actress - Nicole Kidman introduces Angelina.

(Sorry for the poor quality, it was the only one I could find!)

And if I may, one of my favorite moments of the night was when Kate Winslet was giving her acceptance speech and didn’t know where her parents were sitting so she asked her father to whistle - and he did! It was like he was trying to hail a cab, it was so cute!

Along those same lines, here’s the Best Actor presentation, with Sir Anthony Hopkins introducing Brad Pitt - such nice words!

And of course, the much-talked-up animated film presentation - as I said, total non-event, drama-free.

Now let’s wait for the tabloids to turn it into something it wasn’t.

Brad Pitt takes Maddox and Pax to Las Vegas

Thursday, February 19th, 2009
Brad Pitt, Maddox, Pax

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are doing a divide and conquer with the kids, making sure they all get some special outings. While Angelina has the older girls in New York City for sightseeing and art shopping, Brad Pitt took Maddox and Pax to Las Vegas for a little getaway.

According to People.com, Brad was spotted with Maddox and Pax at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on Wednesday night. No word on what they’re doing out there, but I know there is a ton of stuff to do in Vegas with young kids - maybe they’re going to go see the sting rays at Mandalay Bay!

Either way, the kids are all sure to be having a blast with all the big girls together and all the big boys together as well. There was nothing clear as to where the babies are, but maybe Knox and Vivienne are with Brad’s mom and dad. The whole family will get together again shortly what with the Oscar Awards being just a few more days away.

You know what’s particularly impressive about this boys-only trip to Las Vegas? No pictures! The picture I included with this post is not from the current excursion, it’s from August 2007 when the family was in New York. People used an old photo as well. I checked every photo agency that I use and - so far at least - no one had any photos of Brad, Maddox, and Pax in Las Vegas. I am amazed that in a city as bustling as Vegas, they managed to be spotted but not photographed by any paparazzi. Wow!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s date night in Los Angeles

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were spotted having a date night last night in L.A. They arrived at the very popular Katsuya restaurant - I swear, most of Hollywood goes there for dinner at some point - and of course they had to ask the most obvious question.

(Click the image or this link to see the video over at TMZ.com!)

The guy with the camera asked if Brad and Angelina are in competition with Nadya Suleman, or “OctoMom” as they referred to her. Ever the professionals, Angie just gave a non-commital half-smile and ignored the question while Brad just answered, “yeah, we sure are” before heading inside.

It’s too bad they had to be asked a dumb question like that, but I’m glad they got an evening to themselves. They probably made Valentine’s Day a family day like we do here, so getting to go out to dinner on the 15th was a nice way to still celebrate - plus, fewer crowds!

(Thanks Angela, for the link!)

Countdown to the Oscars with Brad and Angelina on the red carpet

Monday, February 16th, 2009

Now that it’s Monday, we have less than one week until the Oscars ceremony! While that means lots of hope that Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie will win (or both of them!), it also means something else important - it means Brad & Angelina on the red carpet!

I know that some of you have been annoyed enough by the other awards this season, with neither Brad Pitt nor The Curious Case of Benjamin Button winning any major awards (BB has won some technical awards) that you’ve said you refuse to watch the Oscars. I can’t help it, I have to watch. I almost never miss the Oscars, I love them and even though I am often cursing them because they always run so late when I need to get up early the next morning, I stay up to see the whole thing. It’s a compulsion.

So what about you? Here’s a little poll for this Monday, something easy since it’s a holiday for the U.S. (President’s Day) and much of Canada (Family Day - alas, my province doesn’t observe the day). If you’re reading this post in a feed reader, please click through to vote in the poll.

Let me know if the comments why you voted the way you did. In the meantime, what do you suppose Brad and Angelina will wear on the red carpet? I’m positive we can expect Brad in a Tom Ford tux again (perhaps with a scarf again). Meanwhile, I’m hoping for a super-glamorous Old Hollywood gown for Angie, maybe in a dark jewel tone, like a forest green or a deep garnet red.

And speaking of red carpets, here’s just one more photo from the BAFTA awards - does she have a good, firm grip or what?

Brad Pitt cruises L.A. on his motorcycle

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

With the Jolie-Pitt family back in Los Angeles, the days of jet lag are over for now, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still busy as always. Brad Pitt was spotted on his motorcycle after he left his Beverly Hills office. He had been there to attend some sort of business meeting. Perhaps Plan B is preparing to bid on a new movie project, or maybe they were looking for new ideas. We all know Brad likes to read, so maybe he’s got a few book-to-screenplay adaptations he’d like to work on.

I love seeing pictures of Brad on his motorcycle, he always seems so happy on it, moreso that when he’s being driven around. There’s such a great freedom to motorcycles, and they’re a lot of fun.

What do you suppose is next for Brad and Plan B? What would YOU like to see him do next? I’d still really love to see him play Greg Mortensen in Three Cups of Tea!

The Jolie-Pitt kids create a bit of hotel chaos in London

Brad Pitt Angelina Jolie BAFTA

Oops! It seems that while Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were attending the BAFTA Awards, the four older Jolie-Pitt kids were causing a bit of a ruckus back at the hotel.

According to the UK version of Marie Claire, the story is that Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh were playing in the hallway on the third floor, which had been almost completely reserved for the family and the people traveling with them.

I’m not upset at the kids, because seriously, they’re ages two to seven. They’re children and at that age they just don’t really care about whether the noise they make is causing a disruption to other guests. They’re just trying to have fun together and they don’t realize they’re creating a scene.

I’m upset about two things with this story, assuming that it is indeed true. One, I’m annoyed with the nanny. Did she think they were in a park or a private home? She’s the adult and she should have known better than to let them run wild in the hall like that. The article mentioned:

But other guests weren’t amused.

One moaned: ‘They were running up and down the hallway for over an hour.

‘Their nanny tried to quieten them down and move them out the way when people came through.

‘But she had her hands full with the four of them.’

If the nanny realized that she had to get the Jolie-Pitt kids to be quiet and step out of the way for people, she should have realized they were being disruptive and it’s up to her to step up and find something more appropriate for them to do. It’s not very likely that a seven-year-old who is having a great time is going to suddenly stop and say, “hey guys, this isn’t a very good idea, let’s go inside and color instead!”

The other thing that upset me is something that doesn’t surprise me - I’ve seen other articles and blog posts where people are blaming Brad and Angelina for the behavior, and calling the kids wild, out of control, and spoiled.

First of all, how are Brad and Angelina to blame? They weren’t there! It’s not like they were locked inside, sleeping. They had gone out to attend an awards show. They were not responsible for what was going on at the hotel. If non-celebrity kids drew all over their living room walls because their babysitter was too busy watching TV or just didn’t care to stop them, no one would blame the parents who were out. But naturally, because it’s Brad and Angelina, people must blame them for something that happened when they weren’t even present.

Second, kids playing in the hallway and making a lot of nose are not wild, out of control, or spoiled. As I said, that just makes them KIDS. Kids want to run and play and have fun. If anyone has a kid who is two, three, five, or seven years old who would be happier to sit quietly in a chair than play games with their siblings, well lucky them. Most kids are not like that.

Hopefully Brad and Angelina spoke with the nanny after hearing what happened so that things won’t get so loud next time - but on the other hand, I think that’s why they tend to rent houses instead of hotel rooms when they can, because it cuts down on this sort of situation!

Video: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the BAFTA red carpet

Monday, February 9th, 2009

I love, love, LOVE this video clip of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the BAFTA red carpet.

First of all, kudos to the interviewer. I would like to forward the link to a handful of American interviewers who don’t handle the red carpet slots as well as he did. He avoided personal questions about their kids, what they ate for breakfast that morning, how on earth they got ready with all those kids at home, their love for each other, and all the other nonsense that makes for a great magazine or TV show interview - but inappropriate for a minute or so on the red carpet!

I laughed when he asked them to comment on each other’s performance and Brad got all flustered - it was particularly amusing that Angelina had a great, eloquent answer and Brad was embarrassed that her response was better than his!

They were also asked for their thoughts on the big competition, Slumdog Millionaire and they both agreed that it’s a fantastic movie, and Angelina was especially moved by the parts where the characters are children living in the streets, and mentioned that it was very accurate as far as depicting the slum areas of India.

Great, brief interview!

While neither Brad nor Angelina won a BAFTA, I have been told that The Curious Case of Benjamin Button did win a few awards, although not for best movie. I haven’t been able to find a solid answer as to which ones it did win, though I’m assuming that they were probably technical awards. I’ll update this post once I know for sure!

(Thank you to everyone who emailed me with the link to the video of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie on the BAFTA red carpet!)

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and all the kids!

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

The Jolie-Pitt family have hit Japan! Someone was lucky enough to get photos of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and all six Jolie-Pitt children as they arrived at Narita International Airport!

Now that is one beautiful family! They’re all getting so big, but of course it’s Knox and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt who have changed the most since they’re at that age where they grow overnight.

Awww. There is nothing that can melt you quite like a dad carrying his little baby!

More photos of Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne below the cut!

For everyone here at PittWatch who was wishing we could see the kids again? You’re welcome! :)
