Madonna and daughter at the Vanity Fair Oscar party

Madonna and daughter at the Vanity Fair Oscar party

Madonna and her daughter Lourdes Leon arrive at the Vanity Fair Oscar party hosted by Graydon Carter held at Sunset Tower on February 27, 2011 in West Hollywood, California.

Madonna did not attend the Academy Awards on Sunday night, but she did get in on some A-list after party action. In her panties, no less.

The pop superstar walked the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in a sheer lace dress worn over a black leotard. It did, of course, put her hard-won derriere on display. She’s got it. She flaunts it. And maybe she didn’t want to let Sharon Stone get away with stealing the red carpet spotlight.

Madonna complemented her pants-free look with stacked black platform pumps, sleek side-parted blond locks, and her beautiful daughter on her arm. Wonder what Lourdes thought of her mom’s exposed skin?

Jennifer Hudson looked smokin’ hot on the red carpet of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards last night!

Hudson rocked a tangerine orange Atelier Versace dress as she made her big arrival and posed for pics before making her way into the Kodak Theater in Hollywood to catch the show. Jennifer, who had presenting duties during the show, is gearing up for her role as Willie Mandela in the upcoming movie “Winnie.”

Helena Bonham Carter on the Red Carpet with Tim Burton

After warning all civilians that her Oscars outfit would be a catastrophe, Helena Bonham Carter turned up at Sunday night’s Oscars looking decidedly put-together, give or take a patriotic garter. We almost thought the actress was toting a folding fan, for which we would have given her mad props…but it turns out it’s a clutch.
The 44-year-old actress was joined on the carpet by her longtime partner Tim Burton, whose film Alice in Wonderland is up for 3 awards.

Helena was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The King’s Speech.

Reese Witherspoon wore a black and white strapless Armani Privé gown which could have been quite uneventful has it not been for her hair and makeup. A high bouncy ponytail in a 60?s bouffant do style and a heavy eyeliner gave her a groovy retro vibe.

Camila Alves wore a black plunging halter neck Kaufman Franco gown. While the top was undoubtably revealing, her styling had her looking both elegant and exotic. I didn’t even notice Matthew McConaughey, she completely stole his spotlight.

2011 Academy Awards 60s Hair Trend

Sixties glamour strikes again, this time at the 2011 Oscars.

Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon both worked retro ponytails with major volume at the crown. Kidman’s teased version was the subtler of the two—her hairstylist David Babaii wanted to create a “playful ponytail” à la Brigitte Bardot. Witherspoon’s cascading high pony was as perky as Elle Woods, but it had a major Fembot influence.

Sharon Stone was also doing the ’60s thing, working a bouffant that skyrocketed at least six inches above her head. It was part Mars Attacks, part Hitchcock ice queen.

Not everyone went big-big-big, though: It’s reported that Michelle Williams’s pale blonde pixie, created by Chris McMillan, was inspired by Breathless star Jean Seberg.
